Things to do in and around Cairns
16 Green Island near Cairns
The only thing wrong with this idea is that the time
will pass far too quickly.
Green Island is an idyllic coral cay in paradise. Snorkel off the
beach over stunning coral reefs, ablaze with underwater colours
and teeming with myriads of coloured exotic reef fish. Explore the
island rainforest, walk around this tiny coral cay or simply relax
and take it all in.
29 (16) Tully River Gorge, South of Cairns
Tully River Rafting - Full Day ex Cairns
Whitewater
Tully
30 (15) Mossman Gorge
45 minutes out of Port Douglas Mossman Gorge is a beautiful spot
set in some of the prettiest rainforest in Queensland. There is
a wealth of wildlife in Mossman Gorge and if you are lucky you may
even see a Boyd's Rainforest Dragon.
51 (12) Port Douglas
Where the luxury meets the reef, Port Douglas can boast palm trees,
manicured lawns, 'condominiums', private golf courses, lavish tennis
courts, top class restaurants and fashionable arcades.
Much of the Port Douglas appeal is the vast array of attractions
nearby not too mention the GBR (Great Barrier Reef)
86 (26) Smithfield Tower Bungy - from Cairns
A bit of up and down…then up….then down…then
up…then down..then….
Bungy
Jumping Smithfield, Queensland
45 metre tower to plummet 44ms? Not sure how close you get to the
ground but for me it's probably about 44m too close. But you will
probably fall for the whole experience and then rise and then fall..
88 (90) Kuranda
Kuranda is a pleasant little tourist village with the Australian
Butterfly Sanctuary to visit, restaurants and cafes to relax in
the watch the world go by and of course, those important souvenirs.
91 (98) Johnstone River Crocodile Farm
If you like Crocs Johnstone River Crocodile Farm is probably a
must.
